Hello, I am Alex Rennie (Founder of Sawbeast.com). I have been passionate about carpentry and woodworking for as long as I remember. Growing up, I spent a lot of time at my uncle’s workshop, watching him operate different tools and spend all his day and nights working on various carpentry projects. I fell in love with the sound of table saws cutting into thick wooden pieces and spending my weekends with him and learning about different tools became my favorite pastime.
With time, my love for DIY crafts and carpentry has only grown. I have enjoyed experimenting with various tools, from table saws to miter saws and circular saws, and perfecting my skills. I even built some of the furniture for my own room.
However, what I have observed throughout my journey as an avid DIY crafts enthusiast, is the absence of an authentic website or a blog through which novice woodworkers and people wanting to get into carpentry can learn more about the tools and get inspiration. This led to the creation of my blog.
Although I consider myself an experienced and semi-professional writer, any confusion with Alex Rennie (writer at the Insider) is purely incidental due to having similar names.
My main aim is to help people who are enthusiastic about DIY crafts but have little knowledge about which tools are best for them and how to safely operate each tool. I review various tools on a daily basis based on my own personal experience and the experiences of my friends and colleagues. In addition to this, I also share the projects I am currently working on for anyone who is looking for new ideas and inspiration.
